The entire frame of the ventilation lightridge – deluxe compact consists of high-strength aluminium alloy especially resistant to ammonia and air. The self-supporting frame are available for openings up to 100 cm (upper Purlin distance) and roof pitch of 7 to 25 °. The stable construction can withstand high suction wind load with a capacity of about 150 kg/m2. Due to the prefabricated (welded) frame and stainless steel self-drilling screws it is a very quick and easy mounting process.
Two workers can fit approximately 40m light and ventilation ridge – deluxe compact per day. A short, but detailed and easy-to-understand installation instructions are available.
The Air Vent
Shield Compact Light Ridge – Deluxe Compact has an air outlet by 36cm (2 x 18 cm).
The Wind Deflector
The wind deflector is produced with the use of ammonia and air-resistant aluminum alloy. The position angle and reinforcing ribs of the deflectors are arranged so that moving air against the deflectors increases the speed over the exit vent producing a negative (suction) effect. For strong protection of storm winds, a reinforcing angle is placed behind the deflectors. The natural Wind Deflectors have a stucco patterned (hammered) surface. This prevents dazzle when exposed to sunlight.
The light domes of all Shield Compact Light Ridges are bi-axially stretched coextruded Ondex PVC. But the originality and exclusivity of this manufacturing process lies in its bi-stretching, which consists of stretching the sheets in both directions – in length and width. This creates a mesh in the molecular structure as the threads and weft forms in fabric. This completely mechanical process is perfectly stable over time and does not require the use of chemical additives which would speed up ageing and degrading of the sheets. Normal PVC components degrade by UV light shown by yellowing of the material, becoming brittle. Damage to these panels is normally caused by strong wind or hail.
Biaxially stretched coextruded light panels have superior longevity with very high light transmittance.
The light plates are highly impact resistant and shatter-resistant and offer unsurpassed resistance to hail. They are also low-temperature impact and edit stark discontinuity to -20°C.
The bi-axially stretched light panels are crash proof classified by the Federation of German Trade Associations in excess of 25 years of outdoor exposure.
They are resistant to a wide range of chemical substances, municipal exhaust gases, ammonia and salt air.
Ondex light panels are classified by DIN4102 / building material class 1 flame retardant and considered to be resistant against spreading fire.
